In its 20th year, ECJC makes big changes–inside and out

New brand identity, website and office location will help non-profit enhance capability to serve Kansas City’s entrepreneurial community

FAIRWAY, Kan. – (April 30, 2015) – The Enterprise Center in Johnson County (ECJC) revealed its new, updated brand identity and website this morning, following the organization’s relocation to 4220 Shawnee Mission Parkway. The ECJC is a non-profit organization, supported by funds from Johnson County, the State of Kansas and private donors that helps connect entrepreneurs to the resources they need to grow and scale early-stage businesses. In addition to offering affordable, flexible co-working space, the ECJC also offers advisory services, a mentoring program, educational programs and connections to capital.

“This move is the culmination of a long, strategic transition to ensure that as Kansas City’s entrepreneurial community changes, we change with it,” said CEO George Hansen. “We’ve taken a look at the space, education and services we provide to entrepreneurs and have taken steps to update our offerings to be certain we’re providing the resources entrepreneurs need to succeed today. Throughout our 20-year history serving Johnson County entrepreneurs, we’ve become known for the unmatched credibility of our advice and our ability to help startups find funding opportunities—we’re pleased to be able to make these competencies more accessible at our new, central location.”

In addition to an updated website, the ECJC now offers livestream attendance for all workshops and educational programs, which include material to help entrepreneurs and investors learn about angel investing, marketing, sales, branding and navigating common legal pitfalls. The ECJC will also continue to house the Kansas Women’s Business Center and Women’s Capital Connection, and administer the Mid-America Angels investment network (MAA).

“ECJC’s new look will help us better gain the trust of our clientele—high-tech and high-growth businesses that look to us to set an example. By updating our program offerings and brand, we can continue to engage new startups and help early stage businesses grow jobs and revenue right here in Kansas City,” said Melissa Roberts, Marketing Director.

To develop the new brand identity, logos, and website, ECJC worked with local firm Morse-Brown Creative. Among the firm’s priorities in the redesign process were updating a familiar brand without losing the brand equity developed over a 20-year track record; better communicating the relationship between ECJC and MAA and expressing the central competency of the ECJC as a place where entrepreneurs seek connections to networks, mentors, resources and funding.

The ECJC will open its doors to the entrepreneurial community with a casual open house at its new location, 4220 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Suite 350B in Fairway, next Thursday, May 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is free, but RSVPs are requested.
