Growth Mentoring Service - Founders
We’re looking for a very specific kind of founder to get the most out of the Growth Mentoring Service (GMS) — someone who’s already proven they can run a business, and now wants guidance on how to grow it with intention, not guesswork.
Here’s who thrives in this program:
- You’ve got traction: You’re running a business in the Kansas City metro and already hitting $100K+ in annual sales. You’re not starting from scratch — you’ve built something, and now you’re looking to scale.
- You’ve got plans to grow: That means really grow — hiring, expanding, maybe entering new markets. If you’re just hoping to keep things at the same pace, this isn’t the right fit.
- You’ve got your financials in order: If you can easily provide a monthly income statement and balance sheet, you’re in good shape. The numbers matter here, and they help mentors offer real, relevant advice.
- You’re committed: That means showing up to monthly in-person meetings (1.5 hours at ECJC), preparing in advance with an agenda, and following through with action. No coasting. You’re expected to do something with the insight you gain.
- You’re coachable: Wanting help is easy. Accepting help, challenging your assumptions, listening, reflecting — that’s what being coachable looks like. If you’re here just to defend what you’re already doing, this won’t be a good use of anyone’s time.
- You’ll work on the business: We know you’re busy working in it. But GMS asks you to step back, look at the bigger picture, and invest time in strategy, not just daily operations.
- You’ll share feedback: We’ll ask for a few quick thoughts after each meeting and a handful of surveys (quarterly and one longer annual one — 45 minutes total a year), so we can keep improving the program and show our impact.
- You’ll engage thoughtfully: This is a two-way street. We expect you to not only absorb ideas, but to think them through, ask smart questions, and contribute to the conversation. You’re not just the student in the room — you’re a vital part of a dynamic exchange.
Why does all this matter?
Because GMS isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’re not handing out cookie-cutter advice. The mentors — experienced business leaders — invest their time because they believe in helping founders grow smart, sustainable companies. But the founder has to show up ready to work. If you’re the right fit, the results can be transformational.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to meet you. Apply Today!
