The Women’s Business Center (WBC) has been fortunate over the past one and a half years to have Dorothy Browning as Program Director. In addition to working with our WBC clients, Dorothy has been instrumental in creating a foundation for our microenterprise clients in our community. This includes the FirstStep FastTrac classes for start-ups and raising a loan loss fund to leverage $2 million in micro-financing with our partner organization, Justine Petersen. Dorothy has a new adventure in relocating to the Cape Coral, Florida area with her family. She is now working with Goodwill Industries in sharing her microenterprise expertise with Floridians.
We are equally fortunate to welcome Brande Stitt to the Women’s Business Center on January 14th. She will join us as the new Program Director. Brande has been part of the entrepreneurial community for many years, serving first at the Greater Kansas City Chamber and most recently as the Network Navigator at KC Source Link. Her knowledge of entrepreneurial resources and the connections she has built over the years are a perfect fit for the role, and we look forward to a great 2013 with her at the helm.
