Jeffery C. Reene has 30+ years of growth company operating experience in the technology, healthcare and life sciences industries. As a top five executive and successful entrepreneur, he has worked with publicly traded, venture backed and privately held businesses. He has diverse operating experience in growing and scaling businesses as an owner in four companies (Cerner/Executive VP, GeoAccess/COO, NetSales/President & CEO, Accenture/Partner).
Reene began his career with Accenture, where he was promoted to equity partner after ten years at age 33. He was then recruited to Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN), a healthcare software company, as a top five executive building operations from 1991-1999. During his tenure, revenues grew from $50 million to $340 million, employees increased from 300 to 2,500, and the stock price increased 15 fold.
From Cerner, Reene was recruited by a venture firm to NetSales, a hosted ecommerce startup, as President and CEO. Based on relationships built at NetSales, Reene was recruited by the two founders of GeoAccess, a privately held managed care software company, as COO and one of four shareholders to help position the company for an exit. After implementing line-of-business profitability and streamlining operations, we successfully sold the company in 2002 to UnitedHealth Group/Ingenix.
Since 2004, Reene has been focused on the life sciences industry and is currently serving as COO of The University of Kansas Cancer Center which is pursuing National Cancer Institute designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Reene has served on a number of non-profit and advisory boards and is active on four boards currently. In 2000, he received a Director’s Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement from the Kauffman Foundation and Ernst & Young LLP. He has also been recognized by the State of Kansas for his entrepreneurial leadership as part of the Pipeline Entrepreneurship program. Reene is an honors graduate of the University of Illinois where he received a Bachelor in Finance with High Distinction in 1976 and a Master in Business Administration in 1978.

Jim Dodd is President & COO of Innovadex, a provider of specialized search engine services to the chemical industry. Dodd spent 15 years with Sprint in various strategic marketing and business development roles. In 1999, he joined NIC as COO, led the company's successful IPO and as CEO through a six-fold increase in revenue. Dodd was connected with Innovadex (formerly Chemidex) via ECJC's network of entrepreneurs in 2003, and has helped drive the company's rapid expansion since then. Dodd graduated from Stanford University and Harvard Business School.

Len Barlik is Vice President Wireless & Wireline Services within Sprint Nextel’s Product and Technology Development organization. He is responsible for creating and managing Sprint’s portfolio of wireless applications and content as well as wireline voice and data services.
Since 1996, Len has held executive positions within Sprint’s Network Services, Corporate Strategy, Product Development and Human Resource divisions. He has served as Vice President of Technology Architecture within Sprint’s Technology Development organization where he was responsible for wireline and wireless technology research, domestic and international network architecture planning, and integrated services technology development.
Prior to joining Sprint, Len was with Procter & Gamble, holding various engineering and manufacturing operations management positions. He has undergraduate engineering and computer science degrees from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.
Len currently serves on the CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus Leadership Council as well as the Board of Directors of the Enterprise Center of Johnson County (KS). He has previously served on the Federal Communications Commission Technical Advisory Committee and the University of Kansas Research Center Board of Trustees.

Michael C. Beckloff
is President of Beckloff Associates, Inc. (BAI), a Cardinal Health company. Since 1976, BAI has assisted pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients bring new products to market. Mr. Beckloff leads a team of scientists and project managers with extensive international regulatory experience. They have successfully supported worldwide drug development across a broad range of therapeutic categories and with all types of product formulations. The staff at BAI is particularly skilled in specialized projects that require unique development and regulatory strategies. Mr. Beckloff earned his B.S. degree in cellular biology from the University of Kansas.

Ken Conklin was promoted to senior vice president, business development, at BATS in August 2007. Mr. Conklin was the driving force behind much of the company’s European expansion and has spent the last two years in London focusing on the start-up of the BATS Europe Multilateral Trading Facility. He was also instrumental in the research and development for BATS Options.
Also, as head of global marketing, Mr. Conklin brings strong technical knowledge to the firm’s print and online material and is responsible for maintaining the BATS brand by ensuring consistent messages and branding across all media.
Mr. Conklin joined BATS as a founding employee in 2005 as a software developer and played a key role in the development of the BATS ECN. He has pioneered and led the sales and marketing efforts for BATS as an account manager, sales manager, and vice president of sales.
"In a technology-driven company such as BATS, it only makes sense that a technology professional should lead business development and marketing for the firm and Ken has played an enormous role in BATS’ growth, first leading our US sales force and then as the lead for our European expansion," CEO Joe Ratterman said.
Previous to joining BATS, Mr. Conklin was a software developer at Tradebot Systems. His experience also includes software engineering positions at Cerner Corp., Kansas City, Mo., and Cyntergy Technology, Tulsa, Okla. He spent the first several years of his career as a financial analyst and commercial lender for Bank of America and Firstar Bank (US Bank).
Mr. Conklin holds a bachelor's degree in economics and business from Kansas State University and also earned a master's degree in computer science, with honors, from the University of Kansas.
Tom DeBacco is a co-founder of iModules and serves as its CEO. He is a serial entrepreneur, having started two other successful software companies.
Tom began his software career in 1981 as a sales and marketing executive for Innovative Software, a startup application software company. By the late 80's Tom had spent time living in London setting up international operations for Innovative Software, Informix Software and Fox Software. In early 1993, Tom co-founded Visual Components a successful software company that focused on providing development tools to other software developers.
Since the inception of iModules in May 2002, Tom has been engaged in the strategy and daily operations to ensure iModules success in delivering leading edge SaaS (software as a service) solutions to member based organizations.
Katheen J. Dodd is founder and Chairman of The Corridor Group, Inc., Corridor International and Corridor Media.
She is nationally recognized for her expertise in home care and has more than 25 years of experience in the home care industry. Her proficiency and insight into strategic business planning has provided valuable direction to health care providers, payers and manufacturers who interface with the home care industry. Kathy writes and lectures on home care topics that are currently challenging the home care provider market.
Kathy’s increasing interest in the development of home care services in the international market culminated with the founding of Corridor International in 1999. Through CI, Kathy started working with a Euro-Asian country (Turkey) to develop its home care services, offering the guidance and advisement required for a new business start-up. CI is currently in a joint venture relationship with one of Turkey’s largest companies providing home care services in Istanbul and other cities throughout Turkey.

Gary Fish is founder and CEO of Fishnet Security, Inc., headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Fish founded FishNet Security in 1996 and, since its inception, has led the organization to be one of the fastest growing and most respected information security firms in the United States.
In 2005, Mr. Fish positioned FishNet Security to obtain $12 million in private equity investments, helping to perpetuate his vision of continued growth and stability. In 2006, Mr. Fish showed his strengths as both a leader and strategist, by leading the company through the successful acquisition of SiegeWorks LLC and True North Solutions Commercial Operations, officially making FishNet Security the largest private Information Security Solutions Provider in the country. In 2007, with revenues of over $200 million, 26 offices and nearly 300 employees, Mr. Fish led the company to another successful private equity investment of $100 million.
Mr. Fish has a degree in electronics from Devry University, served in the Army National Guard and is certified in many areas of technological and business expertise. With nearly 20 years of experience in the information technology field, Mr. Fish is regarded as a pioneer in the information security industry. He actively serves on the advisory boards for numerous national and global technology companies. In 1999, Fish was named as one of the Top 25 Executives for the new millennium, in computer related fields.
In 2001, Ernst & Young honored Mr. Fish as the Technology Entrepreneur of the Year for the state of Kansas and Western Missouri. Mr. Fish is a serial entrepreneur, involved in many business endeavors including a successful information security application development company, Secure Passage. In addition to his active role in the business community, Mr. Fish also leads a strong social responsibility by keeping himself and the organization involved in many charitable and non-profit organizations.

David Forsee is the president and founder of Brookside Capital LLC, an advisory firm providing business development services, primarily to renewable energy companies with an agricultural focus.
Forsee was founder, CEO and Chairman of the venture-backed MachineryLink, Inc. from its initial incorporation in 2000 until April 2006. MachineryLink provides farmers in 31 states the latest, most efficient, and largest fleet of agricultural equipment through a shared leasing network.
Mr. Forsee was an executive with Child Health Corporation and Baxter Healthcare, responsible for venture investing, new business development and national account sales.
He has a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from the University of Missouri; he is a CPA. Forsee is currently an Executive Board Member of the 107-year-old American Royal. He was the 2005 Executive in Residence at the University of Missouri, and is a past Executive Board Member and current elder of his local 3000-member church.
Tim Helton is executive vice president of Sales and Strategic Alliances at Perceptive Software. Helton’s responsibilities include directing sales for public and private sectors worldwide, building strategic alliances, refining product positioning and identifying new markets. Since joining Perceptive Software in 1999, Helton has developed and formalized the direct sales organization responsible for the company’s rapid revenue growth, which has exceeded 40 percent annually for the past six years.
Helton began his career at IBM in Kansas City in the early 1980s and held senior leadership roles with two other privately-held technology firms. Helton joined Perceptive Software after working with company executives in an advisory capacity.
Helton is also a member of the Perceptive Software Board of Trustees for US- and UK-based operations and serves on the board of the Enterprise Center of Johnson County, which promotes entrepreneurial development in the Kansas City metropolitan area. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University.
Shawn McCarrick joined Freightquote.com as the Chief Information Officer in October 2006 and assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer in January 2009. As COO / CIO, Shawn is responsible for Freightquote’s Operations and Technology functions as well Freightquote’s subsidiaries, Rockwell Transportation Services and Twin Modal, Inc.
Shawn has been instrumental in moving the company forward on many fronts including technology management, integration, process re-engineering, and overall technology management. His business acumen and strong technology skills continue to make a meaningful impact on our freight business.
Shawn has a BS in Computer Information Systems from Central Missouri State University and over twenty years of experience in delivering IT business solutions to large organizations. He was the Division Information Officer within the US Tax Division of H&R Block prior to joining Freightquote.com. His drive for continual improvement, approach to team building, and speed to execution continue to be instrumental to Freightquote’s growth.

Brian Roby has more than 25 years of banking experience and is President & CEO of First National Bank of Olathe, a $1 Billion community bank headquartered in Olathe, Kansas. The bank has nine branches in Johnson County and one in Scottsdale, Arizona.
His past and current community activities include serving as Chairman of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, Board President of Safehome, Inc., Board & Executive Committee member of TLC for Children & Families, Inc., board member of Johnson County United Way, board member of Olathe Medical Center and as a member of the Johnson County Housing & Community Development Advisory Committee. Brian has a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Cheri Streeter served as the director of the Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community College for 11 years and retired in 2008 from JCCC as the dean of continuing education. When not traveling, she currently provides business consulting services to small business owners and also specializes in business writing and editing.
Cheri majored in foreign languages in college, including Spanish, French and German, and became fluent in Spanish after studying in Mexico. She received an MBA from the University of Denver while employed as an interpreter and export manager for an international industrial products manufacturing company based in Denver.
In 1986, she fulfilled her dream of starting her own business when she and her husband relocated from Denver to Kansas City to start up a concrete manufacturing company. The company introduced concrete paving stones to the Kansas City region and grew the company to be the largest paving stone producer in the Kansas/Missouri area. They sold the business in 1994 to the national firm, Pavestone. After selling the business, Cheri wanted to share her entrepreneurial expertise and experience with other aspiring business owners, which led to her joining the Small Business Development Center, a non-profit agency of the SBA.
Cheri is one of the founding members of the Women’s Capital Connection angel investor group and serves on the board of Heartland Business Capital. She likes to write, golf, and travel, and is a dog enthusiast.

In November of 2006, Tom Thornton became the first president and chief executive officer of the Kansas Bioscience Authority (KBA), where he leads the effort to stimulate growth in bioscience research and business in Kansas through the investment of approximately $580 million generated by the Kansas Economic Growth Act.
Mr. Thornton previously served as president and chief executive officer of the Illinois Technology Development Alliance, establishing it as one of the most respected technology development organizations in the country. He was the senior vice president for Convergent Technology Group, a Seattle-based mergers and acquisitions advisory services firm, and managing partner for divine interVentures, an early-stage venture investment fund. Early in his career, Mr. Thornton served as director of policy for U.S. Rep. J. Dennis Hastert, former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mr. Thornton earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
