To accomplish our mission of building companies that create wealth and jobs in the region, ECJC manages three distinct programs:
Business Incubation
ECJC provides hands-on business assistance to a limited number of promising, high-growth-potential companies. Among the services we offer are project-based business consulting, entrepreneurial workshops and seminars, access to funding sources and business experts, and turn-key facilities.
Our ideal customer is an early-stage “high-return” company with an innovative product or service that has potential national or international relevance. The team has at least one member working full-time in the company, is open to advice and counsel, and seeks partners to achieve significant revenue and job growth. A Johnson County, Kansas, location is preferred, though not required.

Mid-America Angels Network
Mid-America Angels ("MAA") is a regional network of angel investors dedicated to identifying and funding the most promising start-up business opportunities in the Kansas-Missouri region. MAA has two primary objectives:
- To present high return-on-investment funding opportunities to its members.
- To facilitate access to early-stage financing for high-growth-potential businesses and entrepreneurs.
The network was formed by ECJC and the Lawrence Regional Technology Center in March, 2006, and currently has 102 members who have invested over $11M in 29 companies.

Women’s Business Center
The Women's Business Center develops, consults and
mentors women entrepreneurs. WBC provides access to capital,
education, and resources to women entrepreneurs at every stage of
business development through business counseling, seminars, classes
& workshops, networking and mentoring.
An ECJC program since 2000, WBC offers a host of services designed to
enhance a client's entrepreneurial and general business knowledge.
Training and assistance is available in areas such as finance, marketing
and business management.
Mentoring roundtables meet monthly for peer to peer and expert
counseling in various business functions. WBC training programs include
FastTrac NewVenture, FastTrac Growth Venture, Certification Maze, and a
host of topics relevant to business growth.
Internship Program
The ECJC has launched a new internship program to help area undergraduate and graduate students develop entrepreneurial skills and work with innovative startup companies in the region. In an effort to help students gain valuable work experience before entering the workforce, ECJC is partnering with the University of Kansas and Rockhurst University MBA programs to recruit students. The program is open for any area college or graduate student to apply.
